Could 2nd Amazon headquarters make Sacramento home?
Seattle-based retail giant looks to add 2nd headquarters in North America
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) --Amazon announced Thursday morning it's looking for a home for its second company headquarters in North America, and Sacramento may be one of the cities that would want to enter its horse in this race.
The online retailer posted an eight-page request for proposals asking interested cities to submit their bids for the $5 billion facility.
The online giant, based in Seattle, said that the new site would be accompanied by as many as 50,000 jobs, with an average salary of $100,000.
Sacramento could be a good fit for an Amazon headquarters as the city continues to grow. Construction is nearing a finish for a new fulfillment center near the Sacramento International Airport that is bringing 1,500 jobs to the area.
