Kelley, of LDK Ventures and Downtown Railyard Venture LLC, spoke at the annual NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association event. Among other plans for the project, Kelley described concepts for development around the central shops area of the 200-acre infill project. Though those buildings are undergoing remediation now, he said, they might also be the first projects to come to life in the railyard.
Kelley showed a preliminary site map with a central tree-lined boulevard through the shops, with parking and retail on both sides. At the southern end would be a public market labeled “The Table,” while other buildings suggested stores, restaurants and a brewery. An unnamed hotel was shown toward the northern end of the boulevard,and a corporate campus on the northwestern corner.
